Just three weeks after teasing fans with a preview, Paramore has released their energetic cover of Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House” as part of A24 Music’s latest announcement. The record label officially introduced “Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Stop Making Sense,” a tribute album commemorating the 40th anniversary of Talking Heads’ iconic Stop Making Sense concert film and its accompanying soundtrack.

The tribute album mirrors the original LP’s tracklist, featuring fresh interpretations of the 16 dynamic tracks by a diverse range of artists. The lineup includes Paramore, Miley Cyrus, Lorde, The National, Teezo Touchdown, Kevin Abstract, Jean Dawson, girl in red, BADBADNOTGOOD, Blondshell, The Cavemen., Chicano Batman, Money Mark, DJ Tunez, El Mató a un Policía Motorizado, The Linda Lindas, and Toro y Moi.

A24 Music curated this compilation to coincide with the recent re-release of Stop Making Sense in theaters nationwide. Originally filmed and released in 1984, the concert film directed by Jonathan Demme captures four nights of Talking Heads’ 1983 tour supporting their Speaking in Tongues album, which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 that year. The original Stop Making Sense soundtrack, released in 1984, reached No. 41 on the Billboard 200, spending an impressive 119 weeks on the chart, the longest for any Talking Heads title.

The restored 4K print of Stop Making Sense returned to theaters in January, with A24 acquiring worldwide rights to the film. Under A24’s guidance, the re-release set an IMAX record for the highest-grossing live event, surpassing the film’s original 10-month U.S. theatrical run in weeks. A new theatrical residency for the film was launched on Jan. 27, featuring monthly screenings in major cities as the concert documentary approaches its 40th anniversary.

Talking Heads, with eight career entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including their sole top 10 hit “Burning Down the House” in 1983 (No. 9), and 12 entries on the Billboard 200, continue to hold their place in music history. Notably, Speaking in Tongues (1983) reached No. 15, Little Creatures (1985) reached No. 20, and Naked (1988) reached No. 19.

Fans can now enjoy Paramore’s lively rendition of “Burning Down the House” along with other captivating covers on the tribute album.
