The aftermath persists for Jonathan Majors following his guilty verdict, and ET can confirm that the embattled 34-year-old will no longer take on the role of Dennis Rodman in the upcoming film, 48 Hours in Vegas.

Sources reveal that Lionsgate has relinquished the Rodman project back to its producers, providing them the opportunity to seek alternative avenues. The project is set to proceed, albeit without Majors’ involvement, as initially reported by CNN. Majors had previously been selected to portray the NBA legend in a film centered around Rodman’s notorious trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals.

This marks the latest project from which Majors has been excluded since his protracted legal troubles, culminating in his guilty verdict last month. The charges stemmed from a March 25 arrest in New York City, where authorities asserted that Majors engaged in physical contact, causing injury to both another individual and a family and household member, during an argument in the backseat of a car. The identified individual turned out to be his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

In his initial post-verdict interview with Good Morning America, Majors vehemently denied ever striking Jabbari.

Following his arrest, the Marvel star faced the termination of his contract with his management team. Subsequently, Disney and Marvel Studios severed ties with him post-conviction. Majors had previously been set to star in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027) before his legal issues derailed his ascent in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A mere 13 days before his arrest, Majors spoke to ET on the red carpet at the 95th Academy Awards, discussing his preparations for his role in 48 Hours in Vegas.
